Chess
Toowoomba East State School Chess Club is held weekly during the lunchtime. The club participates in the Toowoomba Individual Chess Championships and the Toowoomba Teams Chess Championships.
The players can be either boys or girls from years two to six. Special consideration can be given to younger players. Players can be beginners or experienced. The students play and learn the rules and moves of chess in a supportive environment.
Robotics
Toowoomba East State School has a robotics program for interested students. This culminates in the students competing at the regional Robo Cup.
The successful applicants are selected based on expression of interest and commitment to the program.
The program is run during lunchtimes.
